Capable of 150 on music?

First of all, ALOT of people dont know how loud 150 DBs is really...it is VERY loud. Just because you see those numbers and higher thrown around on here alot doesnt mean much. So getting your hopes up on a 150 DB setup may not be the way to go about it. Put that as your eventual goal. Numbers are honestly less dependant on the equipment and 10 x more dependent on the box and install. You can get 150+ on a single 10" but it depends on how good your box is.

As for your amount of space, looked like you have about 7 cubes to play with. You dont want your port to close to the back of the hatch or it will choke, so id say dont go longer than 25". Two 18s on high power in a smaller box may work, but that amount of space will be great for 2 15"s. With about $1000 on subs, id say 2 15" DC lvl 5s (or xls if you want to save some cash for more electrical/bigger amp), 2 15" AA mayhems, 2 15" DD 9515s. Theres tons of other options, but those are all very strong subs very capable with the right install of a 150 or higher. 2 D3100s plus your alt should be fine for around 4-5k watts and later you can add a couple more batteries if need be. Let me know if you have any more questions.

So what your saying is with the space I have make a 7ft^3 box with any 15's of my choice or just the ones you mentioned?

Your max to play with is probably between 7-7.5 cubes to play with. The ones I mentioned are some of the top subs from some of the top companies in audio and all would probably need slightly different boxes. Also, you need to take port displacement into account as well as sub displacement. There are far too many variables to just say a 7 foot box will work for all. You need to do a little bit more research on box design and such before tackling this build if you want that 150. May take you 20 boxes before you beat that number. Just dont get your hopes up and research, research, research. Then after you break for lunch and porn, go research again. :ninja:

Okay so also 15's is what I should work with?

I see ray creeping in here so maybe he can jump in as he knows a SHITTON more than me and most people on the site, but with what your wanting with no wall and at windowline, id say 15s are your best bet. Putting 2 18s in there is probably going to choke the shit out of them, even something that likes smaller boxes like the AA SMDs.

Okay so 15's is what I'm going to work with...

Traks. 50 in s3??

What state are you in??

What vehicle is this in that you only have 33wide??

In 6 cuft net i would do a single 18

Cut the box short from the back wall leave about 8" to the door

Or a single 15 in a 4th order if you want lows along with a good number.

Single sub also cuts sub costs down

Again, what kind of car?

Single aa mayhem on 3500 should do the trick, im guessing its a pretty small suv with only 33 wide

I live in Texas. And my suv is a 2000 Honda crv.

Crv?.....

Res freq is kinda high in that truck

6after single 18 with 135 sq tuned to 44 should get you a 150

Dont expect to play much below 38-39hz though.

So either go get a 150 or do a 4th order and lows and good sound and live with a 47ish

Yeah that was also another thing I posted is if I can't get a 150 I would want to get as closes as I can. And 4th order... Would I have to?
