I have big hands and I could get my wire throw the same place as your mates car. it is easy as pie.

here are the pictures

264833_10150256024826520_729351519_7596787_1057267_n.jpg

here is the atart of with the boot where you feed the wire throw

261278_10150256025366520_729351519_7596788_313382_n.jpg

you remove this panel to make it easier to see the wire coming throw

268053_10150256025986520_729351519_7596793_4948193_n.jpg

this is the wire fed throw, you feed it throw this side of the boot

268538_10150256026461520_729351519_7596800_4951743_n.jpg

then you will have the wire throw on the other side of the boot

268638_10150256027131520_729351519_7596803_6022844_n.jpg

remove the kick panel

264588_10150256027596520_729351519_7596807_5266445_n.jpg

that little circle bit above my finger is a hole where the wire goes throw and your done

271036_10150256037641520_729351519_7596871_2468087_n.jpg

you can see the hole behinde the rca's

269793_10150256037986520_729351519_7596872_1077281_n.jpg

here is a better picture of the hole for ya

I know there is one there, it is in every vw I have seen. so its not hard to find and there you go and now you can fix the wiring up better now good.gif

did u not use a wire harness and looks good so far

No I did not for two reasons.

1. The car is brand new and I couldn't find a harness that fit it.

2. Since everything is running to amps I didn't REALLY need one. The RCA's run to the amps. So all I needed to splice was the 12V constant, 12V switch, and the ground.

Out of curiosity where did you get the switched ACC from in this car? I know the Can Bus is very sensitive in those cars.

the little leaver for the bonnet pulls to the right, you do not even need to pull it at all

I probably could have, but I couldn't putt the boot off and didn't feel like spending hours at it. My way should still work.

Yea I found it weird that they dont have a specific switch wire. I tapped into the fuse block with a small wire. Do you see any problems with that?

never said it would not, just the extra work is all, oh and as far as I remember its the yellow with a red strip or brown with red strip wire for the ignition irrc but do not quote me on this as it might have changed in the newer models

I dont know I looked online and it said it didnt even have an ignition. It turned on some other way

Also the boot running to the door on this Jetta were very tight to the existing wires. It would have been hard to have even fit a run of 16ga in there.

Diggin the build So Far :clapping:

Im surprised at how clean the metal part of the door panels is, clean and simple

In my teg getting the wires to the door speakers also sucked, they are the same way as the ones on the vDub. ppl sometimes drill into the plug and then run wire thru there but fuck that im not messing anything up

funny how hes stuck with that deck for a while lol looks clean, i was hoping it was done already by the time i got to the last pics

Keep it up, looks good so far!

Thanks man :drinks:

The doors suprised me too. The inner and outer skin are almost completely airtight. Every hole was plugged. I think they use that trapped air for sound dampening and maybe insulation.
