broken tinsel leads on a level 3.

Recommended Posts

So we just got done repairing the broken lead. It broke at the terminal. The lead in fact was too short and looked like it was a straight lead instead of having some slack. What we did was took some 8g and placed the broken tingle in the middle and ran some solder to it. It was hard to do so since space is limited. But it did work. I'll try and upload the pics of the broken lead tonight or tomorrow. Don't uave pics of the repair.

I would put money on this...

The subwoofer was seeing a clipped musical signal thus heating up the tinsels allowing them to burn through the stitching attaching them to the spider. Through further abuse, the leads snapped due to heat and slapping off of the cone.

Soldering could work. Looking into a recone and turning the gains down would be his best bet.
