mcrowdr
Could someone please help me with calculating the correct port length for a Sundown SA-8? It will be getting approximately 500rms via a RF BD1000. .5 to .6 enclosure firing and ported towards the back of a convertible mustang. Also leaning more towards SQ and using 4 inch ports. Any help would be appreciated. Edited July 12, 2011 by mcrowdr

mcrowdr
I listen to all types of music but I want it to really bump so I'm thinking 30 to 35hz
taylorpro
well imma tell you right now a 4" aero with that small of a box requires a ridiculous length. with single 8 boxes like that i usually recommend a slot port design.. mcrowdr
Ok. What would be the ideal slot dimensions? Slot up/back? Keep in mind that I'm going for more SQ. Edited July 13, 2011 by mcrowdr
taylorpro
if you are honestly after SQ, have someone who designs boxes desgin you one. that way you can ensure you are getting a combination that works well together and not just numbers going off of speculation Quote 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123
mcrowdr
The only problem with that is, there isn't anyone in the area that does that. I've built boxes in the past that range from sealed to 4th order bandpass so I can build anything if given the specs to do so.
