  1. Yeah 2011 isnt going anywhere. But that's only their enthusiast level board. The new mainstream socket is haswell, or socket 1150 (not 1155 like 2600ks and such). Both should be around for a while. Amd yeah, j don't see ddr4 being relavent to the average consumer till late next year at best
  2. With talking to him through the rebuild, almost everything was bought LOCALLY (minus the water cooling, and the 3rd video card (since that has been out of stock locally for some time now)).Not to mention to spend $500-1000+ on a current socket 2011 Intel chip right now is rather dumb, the new new chips are right around the corner and coming very very fast, which will result in these big dog chips like the i7-4960X will be dropping in price big time since Intel will continue devolving for this socket (or so all the big time geeks are reporting such as Anandtech, Tek Syndicate, Linus, etc. No that's understandable. And short of a rendering machine you don't really need those cores anyway. Was just curious why the choice then of 2011 over 1150. But you're right I've heard haswell is getting a refresh and haswell-e isn't too far out
  3. Amy reason you chose the 4820k over something like the 4930k? I know price is a factor but the extra cores only available on socket 2011 are nice to have. Great looking build though man. Should be capable for quite a long time even with tripple 1440 monitors. In for benchmarks
  4. that's all bullshit, but so be it.lol. if you're making an spl setup, you should only use track one. as frequency tones you burp with are recorded at 0db as well. but that's besides the point. it was likely a combination of slight distortion, song choice, etc.
  5. Yeah. You arent supposed to set the gain with that track. It was not a factory defect. Coils don't cook by accident. Next time, reset the gain using one of the 40hz tracks, and enjoy problem free performance.
  6. As a fellow explorer guy, I'll be following this. Should be sweet. Tuned in for what you do on the doors.
  7. do a 10. uses a 2.5" coil rather than the 2" on the 8. SET THE AMP GAIN CORRECTLY, and you'll have no issues.
  8. interested if the ford 6G model is application specific? I have a 3g/6g case 340a alt on my explorer
  9. I have a similar problem a i guess. except mine is when i turn it down to 0 from full volume, sometimes the volume will "studder" on its way down and pop up to higher volumes. Not sure if thats similar to what you're noticing OP. I just go slower with the roll. I think it's a problem with the cord input plug
  10. appreciate the help man but i've actually already found one from a buddy. thanks again though
  11. Looking for a usb termlab guys. Single sensor model and preferably one that comes with software. Id also prefer newer software but we can talk. Id like it to be all in good condition. Im looking to spend 4-500 tops and am lookin for one in the next few weeks. Thanks!
  12. i disagree. screws will always be used in my boxes. i dont understand how a steel fastener could ever weaken something
  13. nono youre fine! just saying in the case if you screwed it down and if you were to notice the screw pushing the two boards apart, or not pulling them together all the way, you could use weight to pull them together first. as long as the screw pull the boards together so the glue can bond you're all good!
  14. add the weight before screwing. if u screw it down even the added weight wont help because the screws will keep any gap between the pieces a constant. ive had times where a screw would push the top board up rather than pull them together. so, adding the weight to keep the together then screwing would work great IMO
  15. what subs are you using? ive never seen a single sub take up half a cube...
  16. ^ yep. can get 15" skars now. just came in. also, SA's are on sale for october. 190 per 15 brand new i believe. Obsidians are somewhere around 180+ship regular pricing. all three of those can handle well over rated power on a clean signal
  17. i agree himmer. and the Sa's sound sooooo good IMO. dig uber low
  18. We lost a nother one. He went the other way. ive had an HDC3 before.lol. good subs. been running sundown for a while now and im happy
  19. appreciate the input but to me the best part about SA's is the 50$ recones, and ease of fixing them if need be.
  20. definitely going with 2 15's. id stick with my 2 12's before i went back to one 15. ill likely do SA's for now. if i pop em, ill recone with SPL coils. should be good for my power. thanks all
  21. well the box could be a large part of it. i think this is a bit too small for them. thanks, ill take a look at them
  22. how do you like performance of them? ive heard they are a little high frequency oriented. and have heard a few mixed things about build quality
