Help with sister's system?

My sister wants some bass to go along with her music and her stock 2010 Nissan Versa speakers aren't doing it. I have a sub for her, and she ordered an amp. She won't buy a new headunit (ughh), so I have to use the stock stereo. The amp has high level inputs, so I don't need to order a line converter. The only question I have is do I need to hook up the remote wire going from the amp to the headunit? I found the color codes for the wires, other than the speaker wires there is: illumination wire, switched lead/accessory/ignition wire, and a ground. Would I just tap the remote wire from the amp into the switched lead/accessory/ignition wire? Does it even need a remote wire with the stock head unit? I want it to turn on when my sister turns her car on, and shut off when she shuts her car off. Any help would be really appreciated!

i usually run my remote wires to a fuse in my fuse box. just test it and make sure it comes on and off when the car does

Just wire it to the fuse box. I had to install a kicker l5 15" in a buddies ride, he didn't have a new HU. Just tapped into a ignition fuse.

just go to auto zone and a get a mini fuze piggy back (whatever its called auto zone will know what u mean) and plug it into any 12v switched power (ignition on/ and accessory) and you will be good to go! did this to a buddies cobalt with fog lights and remote works like a champ! but make sure it is accessory power and ignition on.. or else ur amp will only work if the key is fully on!
