detroitdiesel Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 I just purchased 4 new (1999) Orion xtr pro 12s, and am wanting to start planning a box for them. I was thinking around 6 cu.ft airspace with a square blowthrough port tuned at around 30 hz? Does this sound reasonable, or should I go a little bigger? They will be powered by an audiopipe ap30001d set at 2000rms @2ohm. As well this setup is going into a gmc safari van. Thanks. Quote

detroitdiesel Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Ok, I entered the 4 12inch Subs into winISD, and it recommends 9.7 cu.ft, and 29hz tuning. With the motor being limited in xmax, wouldn't i be better off sticking the subs into a box more along the the lines of 7-8 cuft.? If i go too big, wouldn't i run the risk of bottoming out the subs at low end frequencies at rated power??
