18" BTL with 4.8 cubes

Would throwing an 18" BTL in 4.8 cubes after all displacements be too small for it to reach it's potential? I know FI recommends at least 5 cubes but will falling just slightly under really hurt the driver? Thanks guys

Depends on what kind of power your throwing at it

With that space, I'd use a 15". Beter to have an optimal size box than one that is to small. A 15 in a optimal size box can usually outperform an 18 in a box that's too small

i had one in 5.5 cubes and i could run 6k to it

in my last box for them had 6.5 on 2000ea and its was pretty good

I wanted to push 3-4k RMS to it. You guys think the box is too small for an 18" then?

Yes single 15 id do 2 12s myself tho.. more cone more motor force more coils to disapate heat
