I was going with a traditional slot port but I realized I have 4", 6", and 8" PVC behind my garage. I have never done an aeroport before and I hear that they are more efficient. so could someone help me design an aeroport?

I am putting two AQ HDC3 12"s in the box that I want tuned to roughly 32Hz.

Here is the current design:

Can someone recommend to me what size PVC should be used and how long they should be? I think I can do 2 6" aeros.

Thanks!

How do you find the sq. inches of a circle that has a 5 5/8 inch diameter?

OK, it's 24.850" squared. Now how do I tell how long it has to be??

TTT, not spamming, just need this answered asap so I can finish this box.

we've decided to use 4" aeros, not 6" ones. Can somebody please help me out?

Inner diameter of the 4" pipe is 3 7/8"

For a pair of HDC3´s i would use even 3 6" aeros, i´m working on a 5.8 c/f box and 3 6" PVC tubes right now that it´s doing over 147 dbs @ 42 hz using a single 1200 watts amplifier wired at 0.5 ohms, it´s a pair of DD 2512´s wich are very similar to DC2.5´s , once again, i would use that exact same box for the HDC3´s wich are almost the same DD 3512.

Since you only have a 24" depth and i don´t know if you can go bigger than that and i´m assuming you are using the SUV on your avatar, i would use subs up/port side so you can fit those long ports, 24" long each tube should give you around 5.7 c/f and a 35 hz tuning, but once again, THIS IS AN EFFICIENT BOX!!!! If you are using tons of power then i would suggest you going with a smaller box, you can even use 2 6" ports if you want, a little bit small for that pair of subs but still would work awesome :)

P.S: This is the box i´m working with, 100% daily box scoring that huge number, waiting for my aeros to arrive tomorrow to raise that score a little bit :peepwall:

This site is great for aeros. If you can flare the ports. It's easy. I think I have pics on how to flare your own PVC witha heat gun and metal bowl. Makes a noticeable difference. Good luck

Yep i´ve done it before, it´s on spanish but you get the idea, only reason i´m waiting for aeros it´s because i´m doing SPL comps right now and i need any tenth i can squeeze out of that box, but i´ve had great results using PVC before :)

Um...bit of a threadjack here.

How do you mount non flared aeroports? Like, how do you actually get them to stay in the box without moving around?

I know with flared ones, there is normally a flange that you screw down, but PVC doesn't have that option.

You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive.

I try to fit the tubes as tight as i can, so the holes must be perfect, that way,you don´t even need screws or anything, works great for me :peepwall:
