OK ppl Im wirting this While im resonably sane were doing a full rebuild on our donkey cherroke or test mule car basicaly its going to have 4 x 15" 3000wrms subs in back a number of batterys proably like 2x200ah per amp and around 1 amp per sub at this stage its looking like DC audio amps or the sundown NS1 when i get prices and specs

the question at hand is this.

We need to get as loud as pooisble without becomeing a burp only car that will only do 60hz and up i know its an oxymoron but we want this to be as musical (and not just play one style all of them and well) as possible the three boxes we have landed on are the following (ohh and i know the so called rulew you can have SPL AND SQ at the same time those days are gone the gear and tech is good enogh now you can its called SQL it does however haver a point were above that its just bass and noise)

2 subs high and eqivelient to 2 subs back 6th order bandpass 3 equal chambers with ports at rear of side chambers and subs aimed into centre chamber a box we have built before and it turned out to have great sound and efeceny aswell as volume in a small wenclosure in a sedan boot using small rms subs

box 2 is a sumwat traditional wall with 4 subs on one face pointed forward and the port on same face but oppisite side of car using fibreglas having no square corners inside the box running from behind the subs in a kind of horn style design in a kid of half circle with a slight hor or kerfed opening basically a bigger version of the yellow 160DB nowall car from russing except this will be a wall

And box three with 2 ideas to it 2 subs wide 2 subs long roughly 1100mm wide and 1200mm long and approx 450-550mm high with either a square or rectangled sort of port backwards fireing agasint the tailgate or

push the box back as close to tailgate as possible and haveing a full slot port a;ong the back of box firing upwards along the rear window same direction as subs

now the goal here is thunderous and brutal sound when we need it to be it will most likly be fitted with a bass 2.2 aswell which will be off all the time except when we want top break a window or set a db run buy cranking the volume on it at a particular HZ otherwise it will be a groundpoinder daily run sound pig

so what are the pros and cons of each box and which would acheive the best DB without sacrificeing to much musicality also which would be able to do those two things and be burped aswell a high burp iosnt nessesary as this will be a 32-40hz tuned system box so we prefer for it to get stoopid loud on music and burp at the same hz levels at maybe 1-2db higher

the reason im asking the accumulate knowledge of SMD is i really dont want to build each box and TERMLAB every one at worst i want to build 2 boxes either the 6th order and the normal sub up (port up or port back ) styles and do a proper nowall in a smalller car we have put aside for just that

one is a a 6th ordre bandpass one is a tradition wall and the other is well like a steve meade style boc i was retty clear about them and i wish toi know the pros and cons of each pertainig to music spl and musical spl simple

Well the traditional wall will be louder than the sub up port back usually. By theory the 6th order should be louder but is way more difficult to design and build. Maybe look at a 4th order if you really want one. But maybe start with traditional wall and if you want more go to the 4th or 6th. And I think your original post was from mobile because it did seem to be a little choppy? It's all good though man. We will get you straightened out.

we have built a baby 6th already aswell as 4ths and other complex boxes just not to quite the same scale as filling the whole back of a jeep the main thing is its loud but musical aswell the last ox we did in it was sub up ort back but only 2 15d it did 150 consecutivly and was great on all music perfect clartiy up till about 146-58ish thn the bass took over

the 6th order we did in the trunk of a bmw and it doess hwo knows what as its still not been TLd but its clear at all levels super well defined and farkin loud it sucks the seatbelts into the skihole were using as the centre chambers port im guessig after run in it will be approx a 144-145 db car and still full SQ as this is why it was built

so we want to replicate the best possible musicality and also the most debees out of the box in the jeep its just 3-4 times the sizxe of normal boxes we build

out of the boxes you said whcih is more musical and plays music cleraly better or are they all jusst straight up loud

Personally never heard a 6th order just know the design semi-well. I think at that scale a 4th order would be good. There are several builds on here that get super loud and musical with a 4th order.
