x-axis is frequency range

y-axis is decibel range

you want the line flat as possible, you see how it dips a lot on the 45degree(its 45 degrees offaxis) one. that means little bit before 5khz it starts to stop responding rapidly.

then on axis and a little bit offaxis(15degree) it begins to get a bit peaky higher range.

make sense?

I think on and off axis means point straight at you or not.

Also what is the solid black line? On axis?

And orange is the woofer? Thats what I was asking earlier

Solid black line is On-axis (meaning facing towards you flat)

Dark Gray line is Off-axis by 15 degrees( meaning facing slightly diagonal from you)

Light Gray line is Off-axis by 45 degrees (meaning facing slightly more diagonal from you)

Orange line is just the impedance of driver at the levels of frequencies playing.

This is where having a professional install has it's advantages

If you get these, make sure you try to keep those midranges on axis as much as possible. they dont respond well offaxis judging by the graph.

actually you could run them off-axis, now that i look harder, the tweets would take over from the neglected areas in the upper range :) should be interesting to see. if u were not to run a tweeter then youd have to keep them onaxis.

So the woofer will be okay if it's not on axis (naturally)...since it's value is constant until it reaches 1kHz. So where does the midrange pick up in this component set and in the one with the dome midrange also.

Next the midrange and the tweeter should point straight at that person's nose on that side? <---Because the results start getting choppy when it's not on axis.

off-axis will work fine. the tweeters will pickup at the extreme highs. im not sure where the passive crossovers are Xd at.

thats the beauty about 3way sets. you dont need to play with them as much like you would on a 2way set
