jconnway Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I haven't posted in awhile but I figured I'd share a little update.. I'm taking the 4 Champion Series 12"s out of my trunk tonight. The box is just way too big and heavy and honestly, as blasphemous as this sounds, I haven't really been bumping them at all lately. I hardly turn the bass knob up anymore. I feel like it's unnecessary to haul around all that equipment if you aren't gonna be slamming it at least a few times a week. Anyway, I'm going to keep all the amplifiers (5) hooked up, and run 2 beefier 12"s in a little box i've had for a long time. I was thinking about 3 10s but i like the deepness of 12s and i don't want to loose all my low end. It's kind of sad to see the woofers go, they've been in for a year, and never any problems, no blown coils, nothin. anyone else find themselves downsizing lately? edit: just for a little visualization.. the old box is 13"High x 28"Deep x 34" Wide. The new box is 13" High x 13" Deep x 28" Wide. So the difference is huge, its 15 inches shorter front to back and 6 inches narrower .. not to mention 25 pounds lighter.
