Basshead89 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 I was a Hifonics dealer when these amps were released. This series of amp from Hifonics gets VERY hot. however that being said... I think he has His wires crossed for the speakers. I noticed a copper set of speaker wires and a black set of speaker wires. In the middle of the speaker outputs for this amp you can see the mistake. swap the two middle speaker wires and it should problem should go away. (not all the way, the amp will still get hot however it will take longer.)

Basshead89 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 its hard to tell witch wires are going where, is it possible that they some how got wired wrong, something like this, not sure if it would matter but it wouldnt hurt to check. is this how it still is? if so that is wrong. The Gen XI Colossus I had back in the day was the same way... it was so hot it left its mark where I had it mounted. It never shut off on me however.
