Ive bee looking into finally putting a half ass system in it. right now ive got a power acoustic THIN-13BX. link to sub. Im planning on taking the one out of its current box and buying one more PA thin-13. link. the one sub i have pounds pretty good and their relativly cheap. this is the plan i have for the box. i know it looks like ass cause i had to use ms paint. i just reformatted my comp and i havnt reinstalled cs5 yet. my plans are to use 3/4in mdf or maybe eve 1/2in to save space. im converting my truck from a bench seat to buckets so i need a center console so im building the box as part of it anyone have any ideas? i also was wondering what you guys think i should do for the port. i want there to be an opening on both sides but since this is the first box ill be building im not sure how to build it. i want to flush mount the 2 5.25 speakers too. my build log
smokeumtires Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 looks like you got roughly 5 cubes before displacement...id use aeros for your ports to keep your ft^3 up maybe (2) 6" ports... but thats just off the top of my head
theTank77 Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 thanks for the help. their low profile subs so they wont displace much the subs in a ported box only call for 1.75ft3 so this big of a box will be more than enough . its probably going to be a lil bit before im actually able to build this because i still need to get my new bucket seats and get the money for everything. I'm new to putting subs in my vehicles and custom building boxes so any help is appreciated. my build log
theTank77 Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 im debating should i go with 2 6x9s on the top or should i go smaller like the 5.25 that i have drawn up? either way these are the speakers that im going with. i know their cheap but for these i want the look of these ive used boss audio speakers before to replace the speakers in my buddies car. what do you guys think. I'm on a really tight budget and i cant afford much more than these at $55 for the pair my build log

Makes it hard for me to read as well as think you don't know any better. As far as the box goes, putting highs in the center console like that is going to sound like ass. Keep them in front of you.

Keep them in front of you. yeh I know my grammar isn't the best but its 4am and I'm a lil drunk lol. I wanted to put the 6x9s in the center console because I plan on unhooking the 4x10 trash speakers and using these in their place. 6x9s aren't all highs though, its more of a mid speaker but I know what your saying. my build log

Edit: now you've used they're in place of their. $160 for kick panels for my truck on ebay... waaaaaay out of my price range. I was thinking about getting some kick panels a while ago but I go mudding in my truck and with my luck I'll get mud on or in the voice coil and fuck up the speakers. but I'm going to go crawl into bed and pass out. thanks for the input my build log
