OrionStang Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Will removing the door panels affect scores? Should I put them back on to compete? I got mine off right now because i'm waiting on new door speakers. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
fecupe2001 Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Only time i tried that i lost 0.4 dbs, i guess depends on the car maybe like everything else?i dunno, but i can´t find a reason on why you wouldn´t lost debeeeezzz since the air is coming into the doors and out, remeber that you need everything as smooth as possible, having the doors without panels should mess with airflow for sure!! OrionStang Posted August 27, 2011 Author Report Posted August 27, 2011 A little follow up for you guys. With my door panels off, it is a little quieter with the windows down, but a little LOUDER windows up. When I took out my midrange, it got quieter again. The whole door is covered in deadener except for small openings at the bottom where my midbass goes, and now the hole where the midrange are. These notes are only in relation to the ear-o-meter, not TL. But the difference is noticeable, especially the increase with the windows up. Only thing I can think is the air is getting out somewhere, so in a sense it would be like cheating, in a comp. Kind of like cracking a window open. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
