tonedeaf
What alot of people do is use bolts to attach the wires through the box. As for the port, like super said, its an 'L' port. Which basically means your port is so long it has to make a 90 degree bend before it hits the back wall. It needs to be the same distance as width of the port from the bend to the back wall. Which means youll take the port in (this is the size boards you need to cut for the port) 21.75", then youll make a 90 degree bend on the port ad go in another 2.75". mustangbuzz64
im confused on the port wall beacuse the height is 16 so how can u go 21.75 inchs in Edited August 25, 2011 by mustangbuzz64
tonedeaf
Sorry...thats not height...the height of the port is 14.5 because your total height of the box is 16 and the port is inside the box sandwiched between the top and bottom of two .75" boards which is 1.5" total. Sorry about the port length there though...messed up. The 21.75 is the length of the port inside the box, not the height. BUT I messed up and got confused, your actual length cuts should be: 15.75" in, then 90 degree bend to a 8.75" piece.
tonedeaf
As for all your questions...look into box building a little bit. You are clearly new to this, so you need to pickup a few things.
mustangbuzz64
ok thanks for your help i really appreciate it but does the port wall have to be really accurate or no Edited August 25, 2011 by mustangbuzz64
tonedeaf
Kind of a dumb question bud...you want everything to be as accurate as it can be...
mustangbuzz64
Well yea but if its not exactly the right length will it mess up the tuning or anything
tonedeaf
If the length isnt right, yes it will effect tuning. If its an 1/8" too short, you wont notice anything. Just try to be as exact as you can with your measurements and cuts.
Supercharged DCs
If it shorter, it'll raise the tuning. If it's longer, it'll lower the tuning. Quote Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.
