Magna94
Does anyone know if the Sub Box in the link below will fit into a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. Also if the Sub in the other link is any good. I am new to car audio and I really have no idea what everything means and if its good or bad. Lastly if you think the sub is any good please recommend an Amp that is between $100-$200. Thanks for the help. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Fierce+Audio+-+12%22+Single+Slot-Ported+Truck+Subwoofer+Enclosure+-+Gray/8780651.p?skuId=8780651&productCategoryId=abcat0302036&id=1204924953396 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kenwood+-+Performance+Series+12%22+Single-Voice-Coil+4-Ohm+Subwoofer/1989356.p?id=1218304511834&skuId=1989356
speedball1978
the box is designed to go behind the seat of a regular cab and you have a quad cab so you would want a box that would fit underneath your rear seat, so the answer to question #1 is no unless you want it in your floor board of the rear seat. Question 2, the sub is okay for a beginner and you would only need a 400 watt @ 2 ohm amp which is a small amp compared what you see on this forum, you could invest an audiopipe 2 channel amp in case you want to run a 2nd sub set up... Well I took my truck to an Audio store and they looked underneath my seat and they said that there was nowhere near enough room to put any subs under them. Would you be able to recommend a box that would fit behind behind my seats. Also do you have a particular Amp in mind. I would like to eventually add another of the same Kenwood when I get enough money. I found this but IDK if it's any good or not.. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Power+Acoustik+-+800W+Class+AB+Bridgeable+2-Channel+MOSFET+Amplifier+with+Variable+Crossovers/9026993.p?id=1218009771139&skuId=9026993 Edited August 30, 2011 by Magna94
speedball1978
stay away from power acoustik, here's a nice amp... http://www.amazon.com/AUDIOPIPE-AUDIO-AQX400-2-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00424RLW0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1314684612&sr=1-1 this amp would be a nice fit to 2 kenwood subs.. but if you want some really nice subs, get that amp and get some dc lvl 2's http://www.dcsoundlab.com/woofers.html they will sound much better and last longer best bet for your box is build one.. or i could build you one myself... 01VWGREENMACHINE
The issue wih alot of he amps you get from best buy are not worth the plastic there made from use an online source so many of the people here can help you with this. As far as a sub box what iv seen in quad cab's is a box to split the back seat up and you could mount the amps under the seat. just an idea and my thoughts Quote http://www.stevemead...f-system-build/ 2001 VW GTI with a 1.8T motor BIG 3 Pioneer AVH-4200DVD DOUBLE DIN HEAD UNIT 6 - 4 VOLT PREOUTS RF T1500-BDCP (running at 2 ohm) RF T400.4 RF T1 D212 x2 (in ported box) RF 1/0 TO 4 GAUGE distribution block x 2 all stinger wires 200a alternator (SINGER ALT) RF T2652-S (6.5 MID BASS AND 1" TWEETS in front and rear) KINETIC HC 800 BATTERY (Front) KINETIC HC 1200 BATTERY (BACK) 120ft of 1/0 stinger blue and clear matt 20ft of 4 gauge stinger blue and clear matt 30ft of 8 gauge stinger blue and clear matt 100ft of 12 gauge stinger speaker wire black

kam311
Box= no Sub = no!!!!!!!! First of all even if that box would fit it is shit! The back is like 1/16 plastic so the magnet can fit haha. And these guys gave you bad info on the amp! You don't need 400watts @2 ohms! You need it at 4ohms! Which is a lot of power at 4ohms. The reason you need it at 4 is because it's a single voice coil, not dual! Build your own box, it's way cheaper an it's easy if you get plans made for you. And buy a nice ten or two to go under that seat! Quote so far... speedball1978
lol, you think i gave bad info, when i recommended him to a set of different woofers bro, and don't be a jackass, read the whole thread again.. you'll see that i recommend him getting dc lvl 2 subs so he can have dual voice coils ( ya you didn't catch that didn't you) so chill out man.. and the box will not fit under the seat. This i already know.. he's gonna either have to lose his rear seats or build a custom box the way he wants it..
