With a truck the mids are so far down and away from you any pair would have a hard time keeping up with a lvl 5 18. If you added a set of kicks and wired your mid amp down to 2 ohm stereo you'd have just as much juice to 2 paris of mids instead of 1, with 2x more cone area. Q-logics are pretty cheap and very easy to install neatly.
