well i'm trying to build a box for two american bass xfl 15's and i have the torres box calculator. i want to know about the port options. the box will be 20.5hx24.5dx38w to come out to 9.2 gross. i want the subs to fire up and the port on the back facing the hatch. for the port i have come up with a 5" opening 19" tall and depth i think is 29.5 to be at 33.13hz. now for woofer disp i put in .5 and for bracing i added .3 as i want to put angles in the corners. with all that the net vol is 6.21ft3 witch is good but for the port do i have to add how many common port walls to or do i leave that part blank. remeber i want the port in the middle of the box facing back towards the hatch. if i put the # of common walls the freq changes to a lower one and i have to shorting the port to 26" and the net vol goes up to 6.37ft3 witch is still good. now should i put in the # of common walls to 3 as it will be in the middle of the box and will have to have a L at the end of it, if so then i have to make port even shorter to 25.5 for 33.13hz and disp goes up to 6.47ft3. with the last option the physical prot length will be 19.75". now will that be the length that i need to cut the board or will it still have the L on the end of it... thakns

# of common port walls is determined by how many walls of the box will touch the port, on 1 side like SMD box, is 1, a L slot would be 3. You can find all this information in the help function of the program. If not I believe I remember seeing all of it in the topic for the calculator also.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha
