cbianco Posted September 12, 2011 Report Share Posted September 12, 2011 Noob alert... Sub DD 1512 dual 4 wired to 2 ohm, 300 watts, `1.25 cu FT slot vented box. I have a slight problem with my sub getting slightly smelly (see: burning) when playing certain songs. I listen too mostly southern rap. Obviously, this type of music has a lot of bass. I know the smell means I am clipping my speaker, mostly likely mechanically. I don't understand how one song can bang all bad ass and the next song (with the same amount of bass) tears up the speaker. So... How can I fix this? Where do I start? What do I need to do?
