Importing/creating playlists on an Alpine CDA-117?

I imported about 8GB of Decaf's tunes onto a new USB card, and am using the USB input on the 117 for most of my music. The files imported included a playlist, but it doesn't appear on the Alpine. I can't even find how to create a playlist?! I have read the owners manual over and over and am pretty sure there is no mention. If they mention playlists but not how to create one, there must be a way of importing them?
