fourlug Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 1 Canadian dollar = 1.058985 U.S. dollars I know there's a few other Canadians here in the forum, it was worth buyin from the states when our dollar was at 80 cents, now its just awesome. I know I'll be on my way down to texas to buy a vehicle in the $8000 range to import it back to Canada!!! Whats everyone think about the Canadian dollar being so high? And where is the cheapest place to buy vehicles Quote
Godsmack Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I think its good for Canadians. For those of us who like to gamble in Canada, not so hot. mrwigglezdj Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 is it worth makeing under 500 in profit to buy a car in the us and returning it back to cn.?.....at .06 C + thats only 480 on 8 grand....better think more like puting out 15g to make any decent profit and then you might have to sit on it for weeks untill you can sell it to make anything....tricky business unless you can get 5-10 cars at once... and the best state for a regular person to buy a cheap car is kunttucky..lol they have auctions houses all over and you can get some real nice cars for next to nothing straight from banks and police Quote Americas loudest work van2006 iasca heavyweight bassboxing champion at 150.4 db with 60second average TL8 memphis PR15s,12 memphis PR6.5's coax,4 memphis PR 1inch tweets
fourlug Posted November 3, 2007 Author Report Posted November 3, 2007 Thanks for the info man, I was going to import about a year ago when the dollar was much below, the cars down south are just SO much cheaper than here. On that subject everything is cheaper down there lol, Canadians can save tens of thousands of dollars on new vehicles when you purchase them in the states. Some of the high end dealerships in washington wont even sell to us because the canadian dealerships are loosing so much money. Quote
Godsmack Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I have seen quite a few when i drove through kentucky, and also in west virginia. Look for military surplus auctions too. We sometimes have regular street vehicles that we sell off and they go quite cheap. Higher milage sure, but if u want an exploer for an SPL vehicle or something like that its well worth it. J Thanks man, I'm mostly looking for resale. Here's an example, 2002 civics go for 11,000-15,000 around here, where as my research on the autotrader.com says they go for 5000-7000 in texas/kentucky Quote
