5x7's(6x8) or 6.5's?

Recommended Posts

I currently have 4 Kicker DS6x8.2 components in my truck. Two in the front door and 2 in the rear pillars. They're pretty decent, but I want something more loud to hear clarity in the mids when I turn up my volume. It distorts on the higher end which doesn't impress me too well... I was thinking about getting some speaker adapters and throw in some 6.5's... But is it worth it? Let's hear some opinions!

6.5's will blow away the vast majority of 5x7's, 6x8's and 6x9's for quality and clarity, you can decent quality for under $250 a set but you'll get much better results with speakers of higher quality and of course price.

that being said, http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=112904&locale=en_US

or the coaxial version

edit: i just want to throw this out there. im putting RF links because i like rockford and what they do. i like their speakers MUCH better than infinity, mb quart, kicker, polk, and 98% of the other mainstream products that are on the market.
