DJ Kevin - I.M.S
I currently have 4 Kicker DS6x8.2 components in my truck. Two in the front door and 2 in the rear pillars. They're pretty decent, but I want something more loud to hear clarity in the mids when I turn up my volume. It distorts on the higher end which doesn't impress me too well... I was thinking about getting some speaker adapters and throw in some 6.5's... But is it worth it? Let's hear some opinions! Guest
get a bigger amp if you want it louder. if it distorts (and you arent overpowering the speakers) then you're clipping the amp.

They require 45W RMS @ 4ohm. My amp is giving them 60W RMS @ 4 ohm... Quote DJ Kevin - Indian Majestic Sounds

Skullz
6.5's will blow away the vast majority of 5x7's, 6x8's and 6x9's for quality and clarity, you can decent quality for under $250 a set but you'll get much better results with speakers of higher quality and of course price.
