I'm not the best person to answer that question because I wont be 100% accurate but I'll try :)

It can help boost frequencies that you normally wont get from my understanding i'm sure it does more, someone with more knowledge on this subject should chime in.

thanks for the replies, how about the rodek amps? it was all hooked up to some oldie MTX blue thunder 12s. honestly it was decently loud for how old it is.

seems like REALLY low power for how well it sounded
