Hifonics HFI2500D 2500 watt amp HFI doesnt seem to be putting out t

UPDATE......i have the hfi2500.1 on both of my Fi bls @.7 ohm its been like this for @ 3 weeks and it does not get hot or shut down when the gains are set right...i had it re-clamped @14.0 volts and it put out 2012 watts...much better than 1499 but not 2500...so while this thing dont do near rated @1ohm it will do close @.7 i just got my mechman back so im gonna have it clamped again..

for the money it is not bad and very very durable just cant/wont do rated

If you do go with Hifonics for you next amp I would suggest going with the Gen XXV or older Gen XX series if you can find one. The XX/XXV were thier highest quality with military grade circuitry and went from (rms) 1600x1/2000x1/3000x1/4000x1/5000x1 at 1ohm and the maxximus with 10000rmsx1 @ 2ohm or 5k x2 @1ohm (basically two 5ks strapped in one case). The maxximus had 4 0ga. powers and 4 0ga. grounds. I had the oldschool brutus bx2200d and currently have the Zues Gen XX1600 and I prefer the Zues over the brutus. It puts out the same amount of clean power as the brutus 2200 and looks and sounds better all around in my opinion. It pushed 4 JL w3 15's over 1" peak to peak excursion no problem with the Zues. They aren't goin to be $260 though, I paid over $500 for my XX1600. You get what you pay for. Next time you buy an amp, save your money and get a high quality one and you won't regret it.

truthfully it was great amp for the cash it took .5 ohm daily and never blew up or gave me any issues just didnt do rated...and i got a hifonics Thor now i think it is the xx Thor ....
