battlewalrus Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Hi Right now I have 2 Kicker CVR 12's (2 OHM versions) They are each wired individually to the amp, since the amp supports that (crappy quantum audio amp till I get my new one) When I get my new amp (Sundown SAX-1200D or the Hifonics BRZ1200D), how should I wire them to get a final load of 2 ohms? A resource for wiring diagrams or something would be great. Also, the sundown apparently supports "2 ohm linkable/dual mono" which I assume is the same thing that my current amp does, where it's a mono amp but you have two sets of terminals on the amp? Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what that is. Thanks Quote 2005 Honda CR-V AQ HDC315-A Hifonics BRZ1700.1D .5 Ohm 4.4 ft^3 box Kenwood Deck Big 3 XS Power D5100R Starter, D975 Rear

Thanks 2 ohm linkable means when you have 2 of the same amplifiers and you wire them together to get the most power from both. only reason monoblocks have 2 sets of speaker terminals is just to help make wiring easier. doesnt matter which + or - you use, it will work. and when you have, for example, 2 2 ohm woofers and you connect each one to a pair of speaker terminals on the amp, the amp will wire it down to 1 ohm since it parallels internally. as for wiring to 2 ohms, here. RickyFriery97 Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 both the amps your considering are one ohm stable and thats where they put out max power, but with 2 Dual 2 ohm subs you can only wire to .5 ohm or 2 ohm i DO NOT recommend wiring to .5 ohm heres the wiring diagrams http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22 Quote 2014 Chevy Silverado Crewcab 1994 Chevy Full Size blazer
battlewalrus Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 Thanks for the info guys Alright And for my next subs I'm making sure to get dual 4 ohms so I can do 1 ohm as well. I bought these used and the price was right so oh well Quote 2005 Honda CR-V AQ HDC315-A Hifonics BRZ1700.1D .5 Ohm 4.4 ft^3 box Kenwood Deck Big 3 XS Power D5100R Starter, D975 Rear
