crunkjuice1
Well I found my Hu doesn't clip??? Followed istructions and the distortion light doesn't turn on even maxed to 35? If thats cool so be it. Now I also have a clarion eq after the HU going to a crossover then from there to a mono amp and a 4ch amp. My thimg is that the eq and crossover have there on level knobs and don't want to send distortion to the amps from any of these devices. What do I do? Everythimg seems very.straight forward this is my only hiccup. Thanks in advance.
matt14
Adjust the levels to your liking then tune the amps? If your not sure where you like it, try a referance point first and then check it. If you don't like it, play with the settings till its good. crunkjuice1
lol seems like were benny hilling in and out threads lol. I thought about just putting the levels on each device midway and going from there but isn't that way of thinking wrong? crunkjuice1
I can leave the eq and crossover out the loop but I really need to keep crossover in the mix, it is keeping my super tweeters at a good frequency range. :/

crunkjuice1
will wait for help Sorry guys for posting my ramblings its just that I want to get it to work. I saved the tracks lossless to my zune as thats my main music source. Is this the problem? If it isn't really a problem is everything actually ok with the way the way gain can be turned up all the way but drtects no clipping in the 4ch???? my zuneHD uses the a headphone line from it to HU is that killing this? Should I just use disk through HU even if I only use the zune???? Edited September 29, 2011 by crunkjuice1
crunkjuice1
well I'm hanging it up for today, most likely I'm missing something very easy I'm looking over but as of this second I have only radio straight to amps and I used the cd. Kind of bumbed because I only use my zuneHD and for the moment I don't have the supertweeters playing. A MAJOR tidbit of advice is make sure the wire harness is seated down right or you might not get a good reading. Thats what i've learned so far. Hopefully someone will read my issues and slap me onto the right path.
matt14
What kind of amp are you running? A friend of line is running a alpine mono and a jl 4 channel . He has a high/low voltage switch on both and one clipped right away till we switched it and the other Diddnt clip at all. We then switched the m both and set the gains accordingly and was all good.
