jeyrapboy
Ok guys the other day i took my moms car to the tire shop because it had a nail in it. They informed me that my moms passenger side brake caliber was "locked up" or compressed enough that the pads where rubbing the rotor. So the next day i go to autozone pick up a set of pads, a brake caliber and did a brake job Well today im driving down the road and what do i notice. The same shit has happened again. I bled the break lines again and toped off the fluid and its still not wanting to release. So what could i start to look at next? Would the brake booster be the culprit? FYI car is a 92 olds cutlas ciera

armykyle1
IT'S CALIPER!!!!! rofl doesn't matter, both sides need to be replaced. The newer one will exert more clapping force. so its a safty issue. Lets say you hit the brakes in the rain, one side may lock up or might bite just hard enough to throw balance off and go in a spin TEAM XS POWERTEAM HEAVY HERTZMy build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194454-e46-bmw-build-pos/#entry2914134youtube- http://www.youtube.com/user/armykyle1big build starting
jeyrapboy
alright man ill replace the drivers side, what would cause the passenger side to stay locked up? it was locked up before, replaced the caliper and its doin the same thing
kandiman71874
let me guess, try and push the caliper back and its got an assload of resistance but if you crack the bleeder on the caliper if goes back nice and easy? if thats the case, throw a set of brake hoses on it. I run into this at work all of the time on brake jobs. And FYI, hoses and calipers should ALWAYS be replaced in pairs unless you like having a possible brake pull. armykyle1
alright man ill replace the drivers side, what would cause the passenger side to stay locked up? it was locked up before, replaced the caliper and its doin the same thing you could have a serious kink in your lines not allowing fluid to flow back, clogged t blocks, could have been left over trash in you lines got in the new ones. I would disconnect the line and see if you get a decent flow, not pouring, but a quick drip. does it have ABS?
