oknollenberg Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 I have an all stock 2000 subaru forester and im planning on putting 2 alpine type R SWR-1243D 12" subs with 1800 watts and 600rms a piece with a kenwood 1000 watt amp with 600rms. My questio is should i upgrade the alternator on the car or will be able to get away with just keeping the stock one? also for the amp do i need 2 600watt rms kenwoods meaning 600 wat rms for both of the subs?

Guest Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 no you dont need a new alternator. secondly, i recommend this amp over that POS kenwood http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html thirdly, you should do the big 3 in 1/0 gauge so you dont put a shit ton of strain on that stock alt charging wire, and so you can charge at a higher voltage, and have less voltage drop.

getlocivic Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 ur running 2 dual 4 ohm woofers u can either do 8ohms per woofer thatd be 4 ohm mono load u can do 2 ohms per woofer for a 1 ohm mono load that aq1200d is PLENTY power for the hype rs. do the big 3 upgrade under the hood and get a 2nd battery in back and ur set do u know what the big 3 upgrade is??
