crispy_chick3n Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 just came to me. what would happen if you were to use a smaller guage of wire to your amp. for example say you ran some 8 guage to an amp that will accept some 1/0 say like a RF t1000.1bd? reason i ask is my buddy had one in his car that he smoked, and he cant figure out why. i told him more than likely his wire couldnt supply the amp with what it needed and he wouldnt believe me. just wanted a couple other words of wisdom. crispy_chick3n Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 ight so my buddy let me take the amp home, and i pulled it apart, and this is what i found. a moment of silence is in order i believe. all 5 of them popped one hell of an amp. he said he didnt want it anymore after i sent him these pictures. he said he will sell it to me for $50. rockford says they can fix it for roughly $250. i think i might take a chance and buy it.
