has anybody run into this after lifting their wrangler?----------

when i shift into 2nd or 4th gear (manual trans) it has a hard time going into gear and then staying in gear while driving. i put a 4" lift with 33x12.50x15 wheels and tires on it.

any advise would be great.

do you have a tail shaft conversion? slip yoke eliminator? double cardon joint on drive shaft? i lift prob 1 wrangler a week, so trouble shooting this will not be a problem.... also: is it all suspension, or is there some body lift?

it is all suspension. it is a rough country leaf spring lift. has drop down bracket for transfer case , shocks, steering stabilizer and all that good stuff. that is pretty much all the kit had.

thanks for the quick reply

cool! i think you need to do a Slip Yoke Eliminator, and a drive shaft.... i wanna bump heads with 1 of my Techs in the morning though!

will i need these even if i am only having problems in those 2 gears? it seems like the linkage could be the problem. not my area of expertise though, so thats why i asked here.

what do those pieces do for the jeep? do you have any literature i can read on them? that sounds like some interestin shit. i am new to the jeep realm and am tryin to get all the info i can about them.

thanks again burrito!!

i do so many jeeps i just cant remember, but i know i have ran into this prob before. a 4" lift is actually a pretty BIG kit for a wrangler! i will bump heads with my wrench in the AM and get back witcha.

okay here we go.... your problem is the transfer case lowering kit. whats happening is the T-case has been lowered so your actual shifter is being pushed (popped) out of gear by your shift boot... your options would be to either bend your shifter (hard way) or just trim your shift boot (easier yet uglier way) ;)

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
