1sickpuppy
One of my old stand-by amps that I have run in three different rides has completely died. It's been through a lot. I first tried to kill it by hooking up the negative to the positive and vice versa on the amp without taking the fuse out or disconnecting the battery, I have learned since then. Then a buddy of mine decided to drop his beer all over it while it was on, no more beverages around my stuff. And recently the high pass/low pass selector switch became inoperable so I had to put the amp on full range and use my HU as the crossover, I was using the amp for a pair of 4x6, I don't need sub 40 Hz. waves rushing through those little guys. and to top it all off the left channel was putting out very, very little out put so I had to run both left and right speakers off the right side. As you are probably wondering what amp I'm talking about it's a Hifonics XI series Isis, circa 2001-2002. A great little amp. Two ohm stable bridged 300 wrms. One ohm stable on each channel 50, 75, 100 wrms. My question to the public is what should I do with this warriors carcass? I was thinking gut it and mount it on the wall of my man cave? What do you think I should do with it? 1sickpuppy
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll retire it and mount it on the wall. Blackedout
Take the cover off the back, snap picture, upload to imageshack, post pictures, and then mount it on the wall. Repairing it may be $80+ if it is possible to do so. If it's worth it to you, places like DB-R may be able to repair it. Trunk Build Log
