taylorpro
Well i figured i'd take the time to do a little build. my car is a 1993 mercury tracer wagon; same as a ford escort. it has a little 1.9L engine that make a factory rated 88hp, but it gets 35+mpg on the highway and has never let me down yet. The stereo as it sits is (2) sundown sa-12s with SPL coils. They're D4's wired at 1 on my solid audio f2500d. got a pioneer HU, stinger voltmeter. i run an active PA setup using dayton audio mids and St200 supertweets from selenium; all run off an alpine mrp-f300. electrical is an xs power d3400 up front, 230A singer alt, 2/0 for the amp, and 1/0 big 3 done. overall im very pleased with the SA's. in my setup im running them in about 4 cubes net tuned around 40 with (4) 4" aeros. best part is they can still dig down to 30 or so. not exactly sure what the future of the builds holds but money will likely be the determining factor. would like to work with these 12's till i can get the most i can out of them under 1800 watts (NSPL class), then go from there. anyway, all criticism and opinions are welcome, thanks for taking a look, here are a few pictures. Picture of the subs before i threw the box back in sunday morning before a show. did a 46.6 sealed but i know there is more in it. my goal was originally a 150 sealed on under 1800 watts clamped but i only know of one person so far who's done it and they're much more experienced than I. if i can hit a 49, i think i'll be happy. and at that point i should still be able to get a 50 at full tilt on this amp. going to be testing more this weekend to see where to go with the next box design as this one is far from ideal. also have alot left to do the car in terms of deadening and testing it itself to see what it likes 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123
Second Skin Rep Jon
Oh my god, that looks EXACTLY like my brothers first car... holds a special little place in my heart. First thing we did was replaced the blown pillar speakers in the back... oh what fun! Looking good so far and I'll definitely be watching this build. Have a question about Second Skin? E-Mail me! taylorpro
Yep I love it.lol. those speakers are far from ideal tho.lol. that's why I moved some to the back doors. This isn't going to be a huge build like some but I hope to make a very respectable REAL daily driver 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123

taylorpro
did some testing this morning with kyle and realized power is my main issue. being only wired at 1, after rise im not getting much power at all. we played around with some things and managed to pull a 146.9 legal at 45hz on 1190 watts. not too bad i feel, but i know there is more in it. on a good charge it'd prolly do a low 47 how it sits. gonna be looking for different sub and box possibilities and see if i cant get this thing closer to 50. 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123
