Navigator on 28's

Yeah the rim will be 6 inches bigger but the overall diameter of the tire will be 33.8" instead of 32.8" I have now.

How big does that gap look now?

The only problem you might have is hitting your inner wheel well while turning, rolling your fenders might help too.

26s will be a whole lot easier to put though.

I was just wondering.... I'll probably just get 26's... My wife will be driving anyway...

Ooooooh, then I really wouldn't get the 8s cuz with 25 series tires you're practically riding rims.
