howelr Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Im new here and didnt know where to put this so im just gonna leave this here, I have a 1997 Honda del sol, its basically an S2000 with T-tops or a civic with no back seat, just google it and you can find a ton. The question i pose to everyone is: i have a sealed sub box behind the seats right now for 1 10" Kicker L7 dual 4 ohm (its about 24x9x12 sub facing forward), i built it myself but i wanted to see how much better a ported box would do The problem: i have 0 experience with ported boxes, so if someone would be so kind as to help me out design wise, it would go behind the seats on the useless storage bins, for dimensions im looking at max about 34 L x 15 or 16 H x 9 or 10 D. the box would be for the same sub, i have an alpine mrp-500 running to it @ 2ohm if that helps at all. im only about 5' 6" - 7" so height isnt an issue for the depth but i dont want to scoot too far up, also i dont live in a very high risk area for theft so descrete-ness isnt an issue either. Many thanks in advance if you guys could offer any advice, ive been looking online for it but apparently people stopped discussing and selling boxes after ~2004, oh and for the tuning id like to go as low as possible. i like to feel the bass, so as low as that 10" can go while keeping that box size would be awesome, thanks!

412 CVX Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 i'd be glad to whip you up something. check out my Facebook page if you'd like to see a few of my designs. i actually just finished a design for a kicker solo x 18, even though he didn't have very much space for an 18 (he was trying to put it in his trunk), the box still turned out pretty nice. here's a little snapshot. otherwise if you wanted to do it yourself, i could give you some tips and instructions on using Torres calculator. either way works Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
howelr Posted October 20, 2011 Author Report Posted October 20, 2011 ive made a couple designs using Sketchup, basically just a sub forward with the port in the side at the top, i see on facebook you made free designs yesterday...too bad i missed that is there anyway you could help a brother out? just on design really, its such a small car that im not sure where i need to direct the port or what to tune to or the size for the sub itself, like i said i dont have any ported exp.
