tlee2
Im looking to get the best number possible out of this wall for the last competition before i build a new one. I currently have 2 Fi Bl 15s in a 10 cube wall tuned at 35hz with 150sq inches of port, port on top,Sundown saz 3500 @.5 ohm. My plan is to build a new baffle for 3 Bl 15s With port on drivers side. That puts the wall to 9.67 cubes tuned to 39hz 157sq inches of port and the saz 3500 @ .33 ohms(burps only) The 2 15s are doin legal 149s and 152 outlaw on termlab right now. Im wondering if goin to 3 should gain me a little bit? just generally speaking. My car peaks around 45hz. Any advice appreciated. Blackedout
It's gonna be hard to tell you, "doing this or that will make you louder for sure." But I can tell you what might increase your score: Port on the driver side Tune higher Improve electrical PVC roundover on port It's real hard to say whether or not another 15 would or wouldn't make you louder, given that you are sacrificing airspace to add that 15. Another 15 and another few cubes would increase the probability of a gain more so than just adding another 15. Quote Trunk Build Log
tlee2
Yeah i would make it bigger if I was Building it for 3 15s from the start. I just figured i might be able to squeeze another db or 2 out by adding another. They would still have minimum recomended air space. zayres29
Optimum is always better than minimum personally I would stick to 2 woofers maybe upgrade to btls or another woofer that can handle more power and stup up your electrical it's always better to have overkill in that department Quote Btw that was the first person. Im running 4 and another 3500 in my new build im just trying to gain a couple db real quick. Im thinking about just running 2, port on drivers side and raise the tuning a little bit. I wonder how big of a difference port on drivers side makes? fecupe2001
BL´s doesn´t need a big ass box if you ask me, you are saying it´s 9.67 c/f and 157 SQ of port, i would go bigger on the port and smaller box, you are not only getting a lower load since the amp it´s at 0.33 ohms now, but also more cone area, i agree with zayres when he says optimun is better, but on this case, i honestly think you could gain a lot Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. tlee2
How much bigger on the port would you suggest? Im thinkin i could gain a little too since im just trying to do a few burps. I think 3 cubes per sub would be okay for higher frequency burps like 45hz or so Quote 6 Sundown X 15s 2 Sundown NS1 V2s C Pillar 4th order Bagged Suburban on 24s http://youtube.com/tlee333
tlee2
Or better yet what would you suggest for just the 2 bls i didnt put in to account that i need a recone for 2 of my 4 bls. I can bring the box down a couple of cubes if needed. Ill just rebuild the box to port drivers side Quote 6 Sundown X 15s 2 Sundown NS1 V2s C Pillar 4th order Bagged Suburban on 24s http://youtube.com/tlee333
