Image Dynamics Max 12"

whats up guys i have 2 image dynamic max 12's d4 powered by a hifonics colossus xxv 3200 watt amp.

im going to be running it at 1100 watts though and was wondering how to tune the amp to the specs of the id max and my car.. i have a is250 and will be using the factory Head unit that reaches to vol.60 and am going to install a LOC also.

im brand new to this stuff so i really have no idea of how to tune it. also for the bass knob that comes with the amp, is it just to increase the signal for the bass or is it like a gain knob?

Im a bit confused if youre talking about tuning of the actual box frequency then thats all in the port size in every dimension your best bet would to use a calculator enter all the info and youre desired frequency and build away. As for a bass control if its a remote one i assume dont really know but i think its just like a basic eq / bass boost i dont think it affects the gain of the amp i may be incorrect but it will just boost bass notes like a normal sub amp but it allows for easy adjustment on the dash or wherever placed. And if its built into the amp as a bass boost most people would advise so stay away from that it distorts a little and can make the sound sloppy, Bu if you like like the sound of a boosted signal then by all means have a play with it sometimes it sounds nice like on metal but in other circumstances not so great. I believe the OP was talking about tuning the gains on the amp rather than the subs to a frequency(since he's gonna run a sealed box and no tuning is required). And as far as the bass boost knob he is is referring to, a bass knob typically boosts the signal of 45 Hz. You aren't going to want to run that bass boost knob, just set the gain on he amp and the boost where you want it and leave it.
