Purplehaze
Looks good.. What subs you running? Thanks man! 3 - 12" Kicker L5's for this box. But this is the last of my Kicker build, as I'm switching to DC. I already bought a 5K and I'll be getting 2 - 18" XL's and doing a wall in a few months. But with Christmas coming up, I figured I'd just play with these Kickers a little while I stack up equipment. So, this is just a "warm up" build, plus I figured I'd be able to sell them locally easier if they were in a box together. Purplehaze
Also I forgot to add, these will be powered off a Kicker ZX1000.1 (hopefully) which I know will be under-powering them a little, that's why I went with more airspace. I hope that was right, I think it was? If they sound good but just need more power, I may just have to give them more power! I wonder how well they would like that 5K? AmericanLegend
It looks good so far bro! The only thing I can see (assuming the numbers are correct) is that you may want to add the two additional dimensions of bracing to the inside that aren't currently included. Those are going to be your side to side and front to back braces. They don't have to be super thick (so as to take up more volume), but the do need to touch in the middle where you can tie them together. You can get a bag of 4 ft bamboo sections from Joannes fabric for about 5 dollars that work perfectly for this. That's a big nasty port that should go pretty hard in the car... bassrace
You might try and shoot for 16 sq in of port per cube if you would like, it may help it may not. I'm not completly sure but if they're like L7's I'd give em a little more port area. 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry

Yeah, I was thinking it would need a front to back and side to side, I was just thinkin about using the 1 1/4" dowel rod to do it. And yeah I believe with all the extra bracing I'll be tuned @35hz, which is probably better anyway! And the port... yeah it looks big. But it's only 92in^2 and I wasn't really sure that was enough? But w 12in^2 per foot I thought was acceptable? Man honestly I am just learning the whole port tuning thing. That is why I built this box, to learn. Thanks again everyone for all the positive feedback! Purplehaze
Well, I got a little more done today. Got some body filler - NOT BONDO Then started with some sanding and test fitting... Then I started rounding some corners - port inside Now time to break out the dremmel and put in more bracing I notched it out so I could "marry" the braces Side to side is in there! And don't forget the front to back! Glued and screwed! She's gettin sexy! Purplehaze
And now for more sanding! Blow it all out a lil... More filler around the port opening Then after getting it baby-butt smooth, time to finish the last of the bracing. This is where she sets now, tomorrow she gets resin first thing! Slowly but surely...
