AmericanLegend

Why not just use an ipad? That's what the app radio is trying to copy anyways, right?

This second box looks find.

Is anyone doing iPad or android tab installs and do you feel this can replace a double din? Video:

Man just install a cheap android tablet in there and call it a day.

x2 Plus set them on fire... Edit: Fuck a taliban.

Make the port face the driver's door, then you can do one loooong port straight across the top of the box. Why are you doing two separate boxes btw? One long box will give you more airspace and means of mounting a Single long port for deep tuning.

Maybe he doesn't want to fight that man

Oh man, I am so tuned into this. I have a 2004 Mazda 3 HB and am thinking about running one American Bass HD 15, which is very similar to the AQ woofer. I currently have 1 Pioneer TS 5102 SPL, but that sucker weighs 75 lbs by itself lol. Wouldn't it be cool to have a super light weight sub box for a hatchback that still bangs? I recently did a bandpass for two 15s on 1500 watts RMS in a trunk car and it turned out awesome. I don't know the parameters of the AQ, but its a simple matter to plug them in to ISD Beta for a gain plot.

I came in thinking this was a trick question haha, but he's serious!

Man, you had better not buy those...

Why are you tripping? If he wants to carry 250 pounds of wood in his hatch for nothing, that's his deal. lol

Man, I'm just quitting too, so I definitely feel your pain. So far, I'm doing good aside from the occasional longing to fire up. I got a gigantic pail of candy canes and went to town on them the first and second day. They taste better than cigarettes and kill time until the urge to fire up has dissipated and you're doing something different. Also, try to stay busy as you can and time will pass before you think about smoking. 5-10 minutes of meditation in the dum early hours of the am seem to help a lot with the frenetic mindstate conducive to mindlessly firing up too. Good luck for real, but YOU CAN DO IT!

^^Exactly this.^^ Bandpass boxes can be wicked if you design and build them correctly.

You have to draw the box up before you build it. That way, you know how much air is inside it and the port. Or, you can pay somebody to design a box for you and you just go of their specifications when building.

I'm currently looking at the HD3 15s as well, but the American Bass HD 15 is also out there. I like the AQ because it has a composite cone, but the AB has almost the same exact features. For me, the price will probably determine the winner, but I would suggest talking to people who have owned the subs you want after they get new subs.

Try a 4.0 cubic foot box with an 8x8 inch square port tuned to 32-ish.

Orion 250 HCCA Still miss this amp haha

I'm curious about this thread too, but for a different reason. Multi-phase electric motors do not necessarily want to operated at 12 volts, so what voltage does an electric car operate at? Can you run an amp to this voltage??

True. ^^ You need a port big enough to have to bend lol. Just use a program or port calculator if you're confused. Go with as much port as you can squeeze into your airspace up to 18-20 square inches/cubic foot...

You don't have to have a million watts rms if you build the box right. Make the box as huge as you dare with one monster square or round port and you can easily get by with 1k rms or so. I like this type of thread becasue it deals with what most people can and are willing to put in their cars. Nobody but us wants to swap alternators or ride with 10 batts in the trunk. The money is in amps that play behind a wire only. We have used audiopipe, hifonics brutus, and american bass amps in the past without problems with any one of them. I know for a fact that the ap 15001d and the matching 4 channel can be had for well under 400 dollars and would sound great in a system.

Not to change the subject, but what did the Goliaths clamp?

Oh yea, the XFLs are beasts and take much more than rated.

Hey take a look at my 4th order build going on right now and tell me what you think okay? I'm not done with it yet and am worried about how it will sound even though the computer model suggests it will kill a ported or sealed box...

I have done multi round ports in a bandpass. I wish I'd done one single port later though...

Bro wanted to bail sooo bad lol! He was looking at the door handle like....
