watabeast Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 SO this weekend i got some stuff done, changed the spark plugs, runs so much better now. Built the base framing for my battery box/amp rack and cut the sides out. Nothing is put together yet because we still have to mount the frame. Its supposed to turn out similar to like a trapezoid sub box turned on its face. Its pretty big because it has to fit the battery inside along with all the wires and be strong enough to hold 2 150+ lb batteries when I get the 2nd one. Planning to have everything hidden inside that rack/battery box. Also I may try to make something that resembles end caps for the 5.0k
watabeast Posted November 3, 2011 Author Report Posted November 3, 2011 So a small update, I decided to go active using 4 selenium 6w4p 6 1/2 speakers and 2 sets of massive ct1 tweeters. Planning on glassing the doors. Also will be getting 2 MB quart amps, the ONX4.125 (bridged 4ohm for the seleniums) and the ONX4.80(for the tweeters). Any suggestions on crossovers? I'm currently looking at the stetsom crossovers. Hopefully this weekend I will have the amp rack done, weather providing
watabeast Posted November 7, 2011 Author Report Posted November 7, 2011 This weekend I didn't do much because of weather, but I got the battery box/amp rack mounted, I gotta pick up some 1/4 mdf so we can do a layer of it all around the box for cover up because some parts aren't exactly straight. Ran some 3/0 welding cable. SMD DD-1 came in, along with 2 sets of CT-1 tweeters. Also started deadening rear doors. Gotta figure out how I want to convert the 5.25 speakers to 6.5, probably will make a mdf frame to mount on the factory location and put a 6.5 ring over it. [
