watabeast Posted December 30, 2011 Author Report Posted December 30, 2011 So I no longer am in need for 4 channel amps, just picked up another old school 240x4 for $90, I sent both 4 channels in to maui sound repair to be checked up on. Just started fiberglassing. I'm shaving the rear doors interior handles and locks so it only can be opened by the front doors unlocking switch or by the alarm unlocking it. I know its not really going to deter a smart thief from busting the front doors and unlocking it, but it takes time to realize it. I am planning on painting it black on the outer parts, and white on the inner.

watabeast Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 okayyy so I got my alarm in. sorry I havent updated this in a while. I'm almost done with my rear doors. I ran into a problem with the body clips not being long enough, so I have to get some ford/gm rubber ones that are longer and stronger Another problem I ran into is that I should have taken a better look at my panel. I decided to reinforce the 2 pieces of the door becauee they were "bending" lo and behold..they were meant to bend so that it fits on the door properly... so idk what to do now, kinda bent it a little so it fits better hopefully the clips help. So after doing my first glass job on the doors I have some things to fix when I do my front doors. Ill probably make a hotter batch of glass to help with the sagging I got. I used a swimsuit type material so it stretches ALOT and still sags a little. and I gotta work on my taping skills for painting, took couple of touch ups. Im trying to theme my interior with that rock spray that I used on my box, so thats coming soon. Also does anyone know how to remove great stuff from carpet. The shits stuck on there pretty good. Just got my 2 old school amps back from the shop. they just did some maintenance and replaced a few broken parts. total price for the 800a2 and 240x4 with repairs is about 300...not bad..will be installing after front doors done...Ill have pics up by the end of the long weekend..parents anniversary/ semester finals tomorrow..btw sorry for long post without pics..
watabeast Posted February 4, 2012 Author Report Posted February 4, 2012 its been a while since i updated, but I decided to go with q logic kick panels, and 1 selenium in each door...waiting on those to come in. Haven't had much time to work on the runner. I did do a term lab test today, doors closed, meter on the dash, 2k engine rpm, and dropping to the mid 13 volts. Did a 145.1 at 38hz and a 145.2 at 50 something with the box closer to the hatch.

watabeast Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 Another update...I got my dad into car stereo and since he found out I metered 145, he wants to push for 150. So at the moment I don't have enough money to get my hands on 2 more xl 15's, nor do I have the money and electrical to back up another 5.0k. So we settled on doing a sort of ghetto style wall until i have the time and money to do a full wall. I'm sealing off the rear hatch area right behind where the rear seats were, turned my box upright and I will be anchoring it down to where the battery box was. The batteries have been relocated to behind where the sealed wall will go. I will be using plywood, 2x4, great stuff and a lot of fiberglass to seal it up. I will also be playing around with the tuning and the types of ports before I decide to fully build a wall. pics will be up when I have more time.

watabeast Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 Got the box mounted today using L brackets, will be sealing off next weekend. on another note, below the taped off areas are all going to be sprayed with bedliner coating. I moved the tape on the doors down after I took these pics because as you can see it doesn't really follow the body lines
