sps1989 Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD that I have added the big 3 in 1/0 and a stinger spp1500d to. Inside I have a crescendo bc2000 powering a dc xl 12 d2 and a merlon meam50.4 powering my components and coaxials. While playing music with the bass up the low notes make the voltage drop. Sometimes down to the mid 12s from about 14.18. What can I do to fix this? Would an alt be the best way to go? If so what size and brand do i need? Also has anyone messed with the alts on dbelectrical.com?
9515ROB Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Im running one of there 250amp alts for a temp alt and have been running it since the spring. I havent had really to many problems with it but i need to go get it tested again and make sure it is still doing what it is suppose to. So if you have the money to get anything better go do it because it will be worth it. But if you dont and you need a quick fix and plan on changing it sometime down the road then you will be fine with one of there alts But if you go with them i would get a 200+amp H.O. Or else you will be wasting your money if you get anything less than that - 1998 Ford Mustang - Time to rebuild. 4 15s and alot of power TEAM DTF

sps1989 Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Oh wow those sound awesome. And yeah I am kinda on a tight budget. I'm trying to get one big enough to not have to worry about any electrical problems for a while. Don't plan on doing any major amp or sub upgrades for a while. Trying to shoot for at least a 270, but we will see how that goes
