FunkMcOwnage
I'm trying to design a box for a single SXX15D2 for my 95 Nissan Maxima. These is what I've come up with so far. The specs for the woofer are as follows: 15" Mounting Depth - 8.4 inch Mounting Hole Diameter - 14 inch Overall Diameter - 15.5 inch Bolt Hole Circle - 14.65 inch Motor Width - 7.3 inch Motor Depth - 3.6 inch Basket Depth - 4.8 inch Displacement - 0.18 cu. ft. Weight - 27.6 lbs. Would a box 16" tall be big enough for a 14" mounting hole? the overall diameter of the woofer is 15.5". The RE Box calculator gives me a totally different tuning frequency than Torres Box Calculator. I realize they're 2 different programs, but which is more accurate? Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated Quote 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE JVC KD-APD49 Headunit (4) Infinity Kappa 652.9i components @ 2 ohm (1) Infinity Reference 475a amplifier (2) Skar Audio V-VXV1 12D4's Hifonics Brutus 2100.1 @ 1 Ohm ----------------------------------------------
speedball1978
One inch per side of the mounting area will be just fine...just add some strength in that area or do a double baffle Edited October 31, 2011 by speedball1978
FunkMcOwnage
add strength as in brace it with mdf triangles? ChrisLun
I would do 4.0^3 with a 4" port (PVC) 4 inches long.....*****Remember to round the inside of the port both front and rear***** Quote 2006 Dodge Charger (2) Kinetic 3800 (1) DC Power 270XP (4) T1-12D4 (1) T2500BDCP (2) T400.4 7.5 cubic ft. Guest
problem with this. you have a port that is big enough to touch 3 sides of the box (assuming you're doing a standard L port box). if you are, you need to put in "3" for # of common port walls. edit: and 50hz is a REALLY fucking high tuning dude. why do you want to tune that high? I don't want to tune that high. The RE Calculator gave me 35hz as a tuning frequency with these same dimensions. That's why I asked which calculator was more accurate.
