Eskii Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Installing a subwoofer box/bar between the rollbars (in the roof) in my Jeep Wangler and am currently tossing up between options to go for. Depth is obviously limited, and usable volume is looking to be around 2.0 cubes. Will be a fiberglass enclosure for flexibility. I've got a Punch 500-1 pushing just over 700W at 1ohm. Options are: 3x8" RF Punch P2 woofers: Reasonable option as the enclosure won't be overly wide, and mounting depth of woofer is only 120mm, so won't protrude from the roof too far. Response frequency is from 40Hz, so doesn't get as deep as i want. 2x10" or 12" RF Punch shallow mounts: Even better with regards to how close the enclosure will stay to the roof, plus greater cone area. Though frequency response is from 45Hz 1x10" (Undecided type): Will protrude into the cabin the most, and installation won't be as neat, but much better frequency response (~30Hz and above) and power handling flexibility. or scrap this whole concept and go for a basic box behind the rear seats... Opinions?!
