Well I first started this build after buying a cheap SUV after returning from deployment this year in July. Wanted something big, cheap and versatile. I first bought a headunit since it didn't come with one and I had to have tunes. Went with a Kenwood DNX6980, what sold me is that Pandora was integrated and had 5V preouts.

Thought I was satisfied with the factory sub up until it started distorting and popping on some of my fav songs. Song on the pic is not a fav, just one I was testing with, don't be quick to judge.

So with that being said, I had to convince the wife I needed more bass and she could give me a B-day present early (since I bought her a 2011 Camaro SS for her's earlier this year) to help me get a new sub and amp.

I went with the RF T2D415 and RF T1500.1 bdCP, amp isn't shown but is the same size as the cone when sat on top.

Waited for everything to show up after ordering, went out and bought supplies to help me with the build.

Following are pics of the sub box build.

Starting ripping out interior to make a mounting board in the old factory sub location. It was dark out.

Finished, at least I thought so until I ordered 12 ga speaker cable. Monster 402 XLN.

Using the screw with the sub weren't that great, had to get them out the hard way after they stripped to rewire the sub with new cable.

New screws and won't strip if I want to back them out.

Finally finished, at least for now until I can afford to get mids and highs. Had to get my bass first.

thanks, I like it to an extent. when you have the remote plugged in it cuts off below 35 Hz and you miss out on some good lows but I can just unplug it and it drops. when I listen to music with nice acoustics is when it really makes a difference. for the price I got online I can't complain too much.

thanks, I appreciate it.

I have a couple somewhere.

This is a plate I had made for the wife, she named it Green Hornette a while back and our Florida plates came in so it got mounted up today.
