Help me pick a charger

Recommended Posts

okay i did some testing i got my fluke out and the voltage meter on the charger is pretty dead on, when i just turns the 1st 5seconds the voltage goes up to 15.3 and then it goes back to 14.6-14.8 as it is currently sitting now as it is charging at 15 amps ima check on it after it charges and see what it does in the "float mode" o and the batts where reading before my charge at 12.8

I have the ssc-1500 charging my kinetik batteries which are 3 1400s and a 600, and it keeps them floating around 12.8 while i'm not using the car.

Check out Vector chargers. I have used them for quite some time now and really like them. It's the same brand that Kinetik used for their chargers. Also, I have a big ol' Schumacher automatic charger with wheels that I got for $100 from Wal-Mart. It's does a really nice job.

Basically, just look for something that is "microprocessor controlled" so that it regulates voltage and such while charging.

Thanks ram!

Looks like vector was bought out by black and decker.

One thing I don't understand is that it is nearly impossible to find the voltage that the chargers actually charge at, they just say 12v..

Also, why is 15amp necessary as apposed to a lower one, or something like 20 amps?
