jack
Im gonna run ` sub amp and two 4 chn amps for mids and highs.one for the front one for the rear.Roscoe or Steve Which one would you recommend I get the .1 or .2?Its a pretty basic system.....My Mids/highs consist on 1 component set along with 2 6x9s in each door and four 6x9's in the rear.Do I NEED the .2 or could I just settle for the .1?if you can meet the purchase price of the .2 GET IT. ive done programing with both 1 & 2 and the sq adjustments are amazing in the latter. imo well worthe the purchase price (anybody remember the old eq boards with a thousand dials...put allthat shit in a tiny package and adjust it at a stoplight if u need to) http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=29213 "sleeper build" (1) DC AUDIO Level4XL 10 (2) PowermasterD2700 batteries ALL FOR SALE TEAM DC AUDIO TEAM DIRTFLOORPOOR
smokeumtires
is it THAT more complicated tuning the .2 than the .1?
Guest MegaloManiac
is it THAT more complicated tuning the .2 than the .1? the 3sixty.1 had no tuning options it was one giant LOC. the 3Sixty.2 is way better for tuning it has 31 bands of eq per side .1 had none to answer your question yes its more complicated to tune but since when was tuning easy
jack
most difficult thing that i have found is that when i tune it to one cd and then put in a different cd the sound is different but that is to be expected http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=29213 "sleeper build" (1) DC AUDIO Level4XL 10 (2) PowermasterD2700 batteries ALL FOR SALE TEAM DC AUDIO TEAM DIRTFLOORPOOR

meade916
the 3sixty.1 had no tuning options it was one giant LOC. the 3Sixty.2 is way better for tuning it has 31 bands of eq per side .1 had none to answer your question yes its more complicated to tune but since when was tuning easy actually the .1 is still MUCH better then a LOC (and much better then a JL cleansweep).....it has equalization sliders although you dont have that many bands, some is better then none (like the JL or a standard LOC) This item is best if you arent interested in going crazy on your tuning. I would say if you have a brand new car and you love your stock deck (some do) then a .1 is a good thing and .2 is of course better. the .2 isnt just 31 per side its 31 per channel (with the exception of sub and center which have less bands) the left and right can be "locked" so it will be 31 but it can be "unlocked" so each individual channel is tunable which is sick....oh and the time alignment is pimp as hell too. Once again though, you will need an RTA (or access to one) to get the most out of this because if not your just guessing...i mean its not that complicated but you should know a little about tuning before you step up or at least be ready to learn how to tune. RTA?Whats that if you dont mind me askin? The reason being...is im gonna try and make my system as good as i can,but im askin myself if i even need that many bands of equaliztion?I mean I know i could figure it out.Im just wonderin if ill beat myself down if i settle for the .1 in the long run.Meade point the way! Guest MegaloManiac
oh meade i wasnt dissing the .1 but compared to the .2 it makes it look like crap...if you get what i mean RTA - Real Time analyzer basically it will guide you in the right direction using a special mic and software and a usb preout to help with your tuning better to get the flattest response as possible, a complete RTA kit can get expensive. remember its only a guide to help you, your ears decide whether it sounds good or not. meade916
i know you werent dissin but i wanted to point out that although it does suck compared to the .2, its still better then the JL which has no adjustments at all (except gain). I used one in the Navigator i did and i regret it.....it worked, but THAT was a fancey LOC if ive ever seen one. anyway on the RTA thing, what you do is you play Pink noise at a normal level with the mic at the headrest. Pink noise is ALL the frequencies at one time, when you play it the mic will pic up what your system is reproducing and you will actually see the peaks and valleys in your response. If your car has a huge dip at 800hz, you to to the palm pilot on the 3sixty and boost it up a little. If it has a peak at 3khz, you cut it down a notch on the EQ. I try not to flatten my response all the way out as it sounds like shit that way but small adjustments where you lack certain frequencies or where they are too strong can help clean it up in a big way. As meglo said, your ears will need to do a lot of the work too, the RTA is just a tool to aid this process. Heres an example of how i do it. I use the TermLab RTA and Software. say you see this on your screen when playing pink noise: break out the 3sixty to fix a few things.. after tweaking it will start to look more like this: (flat isnt always good, so you will probably make your "own" adjustments to suite your listening tastes) make sense at all now?
