2 15s subs up port up to rear deck not sealed

I was wondering if id have phase problems if i have my ports up to the rear deck the the rear deck cut out but not sealed off with the subs firing up in the trunk cause trunks not tall enough for the 15s to fire to the rear? And at that what is a phase problem? I dont know what it is but i keep hearing about it

These sounds waves are 180 degrees out of phase (Say the front speakers in your car)... Basically just add the sound waves together at a crest to find the resulting amplitude. (loudness)

So say the (left front) top wave was twice as tall (double the amplitude), but the bottom wave (right front) was the same amplitude, then you would add the two waves together and have partial cancellation equaling the top diagram in amplitude.

I'm not familiar with how wave canceling works with ports and stuff, so can't help you there.. With speakers and such out of phase will not completely cancel the sound, it usually just makes it much quieter.
