Ross's "in-between" build. (Now with 4th order. Page 5.)

Recommended Posts

Granted not great for meters, but.... from 8 10s slot ported @ 42Hz, 1780 watts, 8 volts input, 151.1dB, to a single 12 in a t-line @ 39Hz, 1100 watts, 4 volts input, and a 148.3dB, I'm pretty happy. However, my SQ is much better. Now, I'm using a single 8, in a t-line, 600 watts, 140dB, and so far the best SQ by far.

wtf does it matter what your input voltage is you newb..

Fritos im just letting you know that he isn't a newb...He is very knowledgeable about audio bro and is very skilled when it comes to building and tuning audio setups... Just and Fyi and Input voltage DOES matter :)

not so much when your posting clamped power though.

Welp thanks to my lovin girlfriend holding my flash light and braving the cold I got my processor in. So I got it a little better where it Doesnt bottom out. I need suggestions on where to set my xover frequnecys, subsonic and another frequency on the processor. The tline is tuned at 24hZ so may somewhere around there? Also since I have this sub wired at 1ohn before rise would that be a reason for it to bottom out because the kicker amp is only 2 ohm stable?

Thank you my freind. I can't seem to design them but I sure love building them. You need to get off here and get your amp rack done so I can see some updates! There will be lots of pictures this weekend. My freinds building me a metal stencil of the the panda I can brand in all my boxs from now on. lol

I think when you make a 4th order for it you will be much happier. Its a sub that moves a whole hell of alot easy! If your gana build another t-line id try the little loading walls. If you build a ported or 4th order make it on the small side, other wise they bottom out easy.

Are you talking about the epic 8? I hope it will sound better man. The design I have been told to use is .75 on the sealed side and 1.85 on the ported side tuned to 55hz. Does this sound good? Also what do you mean by smaller loading walls? Like less port area? Thanks for the advice man!

Yeah im talkin bout the epic 8.

As for when i said the "little loading walls" i was talking about the pictures someone posted up and he had the 3in loading walls.

As for your 4th order im not the best with those but if i was building it id do .5 sealed and 1.0 ported tuned to 49hz
